Adjusting the note off times with padKontrol

Post by alias_9 »

Ok, I have the padkontrol hooked up to my sampler. I have no problem playing the notes. But I have a problem with the way noteoff's are handled. Now, with drums, it's great that a note off is issued after you reease the pad, but for playing long samples, it's anoying to get the pad to .. sustain a bit.

I tried toggling certain pads from monatary to toggle, but the problem with that is that you have to double tap the same pad to turn it off. That causes a problem when you are trying to sequence the samples. Trying to get this thing to work like an mpc (triggering wise).

Is there a way to adjust the time it takes a pad to issue a note off command, or a sutabile work around?

No "duration converter" in PadKontrol

Post by geoffhubbard »

Hi, alias_9,

To my knowledge, there is no "note off" duration change available from within the KPK... That would be a form of "Forced latency" that defeats the purpose of an event converter like the KPK. The easiest fix to your situation would be to record the events into a midi event recorder like cakewalk, etc, then select all and change the note durations.... This would leave the "Note on" events where they are, but add time between the Note on and Note off events.
Good Luck,
-Geoff
