PADS!!!

Post by hugh »

Hello all. Could anyone explain how to transfer the drums to the pads for sequencing. it only triggers piano sounds no matter what I try and the manual doesn't seem to explain it. Thank you.

Pad assign -> Then press the key what you want to be triggered and then press the pad?

No M3 here but ...

If you find that the pads are not playing notes on the currently selected track in the sequencer and are instead playing notes on a different track (so you hear an unexpected sound) then you need to go to the page P1:DT/XY/Ctrls and on the tabs 'Pads 1-4' and 'Pads 5-8' ensure that the channel assignment for each pad is as you'd expect. Set it to Tch to trigger notes on the currently selected tracks.

In Combi and Seq mode the pads can be configured to play on a different channel (i.e. different track or timbre) than the keyboard itself, which is actually rather useful !

I know this has been discussed in other fora, but WIBNI the 8 pads could be set to different combis or programs?

I understand what you're saying; but if you want to assign different combis to the 8 different pads, I do not see how it would be possible - simply too much going on. The best alternative might be to assign different loop samples.

However, you could develop a combi that could have 8 programs zoned to various areas on the keyboard, then assign your sounds to the 8 pads/triggers. Any layered configuration up to a max 16 timbre/programs would work, but you would only be able to trigger 8 set-ups. Finally, it's going to be very tricky if you also want GE modules running. It's not impossible, but, trust me, it's a ton of work and you are not going to be able to do this adequately in one day.
