Drum velocity? Help!

Post by Strunz »

i've asked this before, but i'm working on a track with the micro drum kit on sequence 2, and a bass line also on sequence 2.

When I play timbre 2 which is running on the arpeggiator, the drum kit distorts or sounds slight depending on how hard I play the keyboard.

What I'm wanting to know is how you can switch off the velocity so it doesn't matter how I play the keys, the level stays the same.

I'm currently recording some raw dance tracks with just the Radias and a AW16G, and it's a real pain.

Help!

Go to the P14-3 Arpeggiator-STEP page. For each step you can choose KEY (it follows the velocity of your playing, this is what you probably have right now) or set a fixed value (1-127). If you are using the same sequence to play both bass and drums whatever velocity you set will affect both of course.

If you'd rather just have fixed velocity from the keyboard, that's a global setting. Go to P01-1 Common and set the VeloCurve to CONST (constant) and then set the value you want to use (1-127).

So, when sequencing drum arrangments one has to set the velocity for each and every step?
