Empty user Prog/Combi bank?
I am a newcomer to the TR and have only owned it for a few weeks, and have certainly only begun to tap it's functions, but anyways, I noticed on the Triton Extreme, there is an empty user bank for your own list of combinations and programs that would be useful for say, live sets. Now, I know most of the banks are rewritable, with the exception of the Gen. MIDI bank, and I know it isn't too much of a bugger to just load these in sequence to one of the rewritable banks, but I was wondering if somewhere there is an empty bank so I don't have to go around rewriting the factory banks and reloading data all the time.

Re: Empty user Prog/Combi bank?
I'm a newcomer too, and I've already crashed my head against this wall. I still hope I'm wrong, but I asked to other forums too and the answer is always the same: "you have to overwrite existing prog.s/combis, save them on a SD card and reload the factory's ones, if you want re-modify them again. If I've well understood, think it's the bigger / stupid error they made, making also impossible to save it on a PC, via USB, without modifying any factory items! Please, someone tell me I'm wrong, thanks!

One solution would be to initialize the banks and save to the media card.
1.Save your current programs and settings to the media card.
2. Press and hold MENU and 9, then power on.
3. Save one initialized combination and program bank to the media card. (Saving only one bank is needed. It saves space on the card.)
4. Reload your current programs from the media card.
5. From the media card, access the initialized program (.pcg) folder, use OPEN to access the
individual selections within the bank, and load a selection to any location.

I'm a newbie... Can someone explain what the above (Tritex4 quote) does?tritex4 wrote:One solution would be to initialize the banks and save to the media card.

"Initialize" means "reset to initial values"... not to be confused with reloading factory settings.
It means you'll get a bank full of "empty" combinations or programs.
Step 2 of the instuctions will initialize ALL your banks. That's why you save 1 to media for future use and reload the previously saved banks.

I do realize that, but I've just joined a band and probably need to start from scratch anyways. I have some rough combinations for a couple of their songs, but nothing that can't be recreated even better if I start from scratch with the necessary multisamples!
However, when you initialize, does it apply to the GM bank? I thought that one WASN"T under any circumstances, rewritable?
