Microphone Cable Stuck in mic input - lever had snapped off
When put my PA1xPro into my new case for the first time, the push lever that unlocks the mic cable from the input got caught in the foam and snapped off.
Recently someone plugged a mic cable into the input and I can't get it out.
Does anyone know how to release the cable without the lever?
Thanks,
Michael

my lever was broken too - first we removed the broken lever out of the plug
and then with a very very small srew driver you can unlock the plug
and then my tecnician manipulates the plug in this way it doesn´t lock if you put the connector inside.
And that´s no problem on stage cause XLR fit´s good without the lock.
that´s my experience

Thanks for your kind replies.
The only information I was able to find on the web about this issue is on the Neutrik website. When you buy a lot of connectors, you get a removal tool that pushes out the push lever and locking mechanism.
I don't know where to buy the tool on its own, or if it will help in my case.
I will try to bring the keyboard in to a tech, this week.
Thanks again,
Michael

If its too expensive then dont even bring it to a tech, just keep te cable on,
roll it around the synth...i have the power chords like that on many of my
synth...didnt pay attention to certain things and too many womens butts
hitting my power cord insertions...there was a guy on you tube, he got the

Preventive tip
To prevent the XLR plug (on your mic cable) from ever being stuck into your keyboard simply use a pair of wire snips and remove the small metal bridge that traps and locks it in position. Then file off the rough edges. There is no good reason for having this locking mechanism unless you are in the habit of tethering your pit bull to your keyboard. If some one accidentally trips on the cable, wouldn’t it be better to come unplugged rather than to damage your key board? It fits snug enough to stay in place with out being locked but if you prefer a tighter fit you might wrap some electricians tape around the outside of the plug a couple of times. This might not work for Edgar Winter.
A sharing note ~ last night when I finished a gig I found that my Mic cord would not release from my Pa1x. The plug stock out and so I could not get it inside the case. Today I spent 2 ½ hours trying to unlock my cable. In order to gain access to the back end of the plug it was necessary to unscrewed and opened the trap door on the bottom side of the keyboard. The microphone receptacle is attached directly to a printed circuit board on the Pa1x. It is not easily replaced and it could be expensive. I used a clip on light, mirror and a bent hat pin to finally get the locking mechanism to release. Save your self the aggravation.

Additional tip for clarification ~
1. The above suggested modification applies only to the XLR (Neutrik style) connector on the mic cable.
2. If you examine the barrel end of the neutrik connector you will see a small window opening on one side which locks the connector in place.
3. In order to prevent your cable from ever being stuck, simply cut and eliminate the bridge stock on one side. You should then end up with a 3 sided notch rather than a 4 sided window.
4. Some other style XLR cannon plug connectors do not have a window opening, however they do have a small notch on the inside circumference of the barrel which could be filed away or cut away by using a Dremel Tool.
5. After making the alteration you should remember to use the same modified cable.
6. It would be advisable not to tamper with the internally mounted mic input connector on the Pa1x.
