What to check when purchasing a used ESX?

Later this day I'll take a longer look on a used Electribe ESX. Any hints what I have to check before I purchase it?

Leave it on a while and see if the there is no "ghost" editing: overly sensitive encoders going into edit mode by themselves.

Got it! Everything seems OK so far (looks like a new unit, no jitter, no jumping values, no blown fuses). Knock on wood three times

congratulations on your purchase, if you have half as much fun with it as i do with mine it'll be one of the best purchases you ever made.

i could never sell mine. not just that i love it, but it also looks a bit mashup from where i dropped it

why not get used to fiddling by jamming out something for the tournament?
