Accent always on ER1mkII part keys..?

Post by maako »

I'm not much of a manual reader (well, not untill I have to)..
So I'm tweaking different sounds for the different parts that I like, lay out a test step sequence and press play..
And it sounds like the rhythm section of the Casio SK-1!
Where the hell did the oumphh in the sound go?
So I stop, test the parts individually again and the oumphh is there. Just not while playing the pattern..
So, El Manuel time:

Code: Select all

When you sound a part by pressing its part key, it will
sound at the volume of when Accent is On.
That's .. odd.. Why automatically add a feature I might not use?
Now I have to use accent on most of the 16 steps and that adds accent to a part I might not want to have accent on..
Example: Step 1, 5, 9 and 13 got a bass kick that now sounds good.
But the wierd FX on step 5 and 13 needs some accent.
That messes up the bass kick (and whatever else is assigned to step 5 and 13)..

So questions are:
1. When I sound a part by pressing its part key, can I turn off the accent?
2. Can I assign accent on individual parts instead of all parts at the step keys?

Hi.
Accent on the steps affects all the sounds on that same step.
You can easily turn Accent off though (just press to unlight the keys in the Accent Part).
You can also adjust the Accent Volume with the part volume knob also.

p.s, I tend to turn Accent off mostly as (to me at least) it sounds less muddy in the mix.
