Chord scanning wrong with external keys...

When I hook up an external keyboard to the PA50 (who could play a gig with that keyboard?), I can't get the PA50 to stop scanning UPPER parts of the keyboard for style play. Even with the UPPER button pushed. This makes no sense. How can you play a solo with the chords changing all the time, based on the notes in your solo? Anyone have any experience with this?
