nerdy sample Q and more...

Post by Sandager »

Hi -

I have the Triton Rack w. SCSI expansion board connected to a 4,3GB HDD, EXB-06/07 and 96 MB of Ram.
(I used to own the Triton Studio, and things differ a bit - hence the Q)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q:
I want to know if it's possible to sample more than to one RAM bank at a time? On my old Triton Studio with internal Harddisc I could sample directly to disc.

I need to sample more that 1.30 mins stereo. I have a 4.3GB SCSI HDD connected. Is it not possible to sample directly to that? or to combine the 6 Ram banks to handle one big sample?

Thanks in advance :-)

No, only one RAM bank can be sampled to at a time.
The Studio's HDD is not bound by the same limitations as RAM.

No, nothing in the Triton line, allows for sampling to external devices.

You can sample to the 6 banks and join the samples together on a PC.
Also, you can record the audio via your PC's sound card and edit with a free program like Audacity or the software of you choice.
You should have no problems creating longer recordings on your PC.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have all the samles on my computer - the trouble is to get it onto the SCSI harddisc I have connected to the rack, but I guess I will have to do it in 2 parts and then join them together again after sampling them into the triton rack.

(it's for a show-intro and CDs are not always reliable)
Is it possible to import the sampeled audio track into the sequencer and just replay it like in cubase or logic etc? Or is the sequencer not part of the rack model as well? (don't think I can see it in the manual.)

Thanks
Morten
