I posted this already in the microKOntrol forum as a reply to a similar problem, but maybe it suits here better: audio-midi editor and Ableton Live don't detect the microKOntrol ports any longer as "microKontrol" but as "USB device" - which means that any routings in Ableton Live have to be changed ...

Maybe a similar problem here: my microKontrol doesn't show up as "microKontrol" in audio-midi editor and in Ableton Live, but as "USB Gerät" rsp. "USB device". So I have to change all routings in Ableton Live songs from "microKontrol" to "USB device". :x the problem is there since I use Mac OS 10.5. ...

When you record a new sample, sample playback is always reset to the type 1 trigger gating. why?
It would be better if one could set for example sample bank D to type 3 (reset) and be sure every sample that is recorded into this slot will play back with reset type triggering.

the problem is still unsolved. :( "kp3 not found" message when I set the editor to "receive all". sysex is enabled, usb mode off. This sucks. Similar problem with the microKOntrol librarian, "midi timeout". Maybe I changed the port on the usb hub and that makes the usb driver loose connection? But I ...

I didn't know that! But the kp3 doesn't connect to the editor when not in USB mode, too.

I cannot connect the KP3 Editor with the Kaoss Pad any more. KP says "busy" and KP3 Editor says "KP3 is not found" when I click on "receive". KP3 is greyed out in the Audio Midi configuration. But I see the SD card in the finder. Is this an issue with Mac OS 10.4.10? I (re-)installed the latest midi ...
