Chris, Just thought I'd mention that I also use GigPerformer running on my MacBook as you can manipulate midi extensively including altering midi channels. I try not to use too many VSTs in my rig although there are times when super complex patches using a lot of them is indeed made easier to set up ...

Hi there, ...IMHO the Kurzweil MIDIboard. With it, not only you have poly AT but it also offers a special AT mode with which you can imitate poly AT even with a synth or MIDI sound device that doesn't respond to poly AT (and a lot more features). :D . Indeed the MIDIBOARD was and still is a great ...

Still the K88 is in fact the most comprehensive master keyboard to use on stage to this day as it can control 16 external as well its 16 internal sounds. Hey, Henry. I think there might be something that I'm not fully understanding about my combis. I can set the 16 channels to either INT, EXT or ...

Just came cross your thread starter here having googled about release velocity! I'm a pro composer/singer-songwriter for film and live performance. Ive been using my Kronos 88X since new in 2012 as the main keyboard in my live stage rig. I use a lot of the K's external control and KARMA but have ...

Parameter guide page 591. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “On the KRONOS you can use preset patterns P00–155, and user patterns U00–99. Preset patterns provide patterns that are suitable for drum tracks, and can be selected from any song. One hundred user patterns are provided FOR EACH SONG; you can create and st ...

KRONOS RPPR USER patterns missing - any ideas?
Wondering if anyone has come across this problem before... I have a song where I can assign my own USER named RPPR patterns that can be found in the USER RPPR bank. However when I go to the other song which is identical my USER patterns are no longer there but replaced with the default names with no ...

New Roland Fantom
Hey! Greg! Sounds like you are having fun still with the K! I just had a look at a number of in depth videos on the new Fantom plus a quick read of the manuals and I must say it's not for me! Generally I find Roland sonically sounds more commercial and somehow less musical. Having said that it is of ...

K is still king for sure!
Still have mine! (Hi Greg C! been a long time! ) I would be surprised if Korg replace the K with some new design to try and better the K. Firstly it has no real competition from the other manufacturers when you consider its "master of all trades" capability. Secondly I think Korg realise that ...

Hey Chini, good you re-started this topic. I still struggle with polyphony limits. I am reviewing this from Dan: "Make sure that all unused Combi timbres are set to Programs which use only AL-1 or HD-1 Patches. Other EXi use some amount of fixed resources, which will diminish polyphony" I think Dan ...

Re: My custom patches worked fine in OS2!
Hi Chini, Hi Dan, yes! mine are all painstakingly programmed custom combies often using up all timbres, not necessarily layered sounds My guess is that playing a single key on the keyboard is triggering a whole bunch of notes internally, one way or another (layers would be the usual way, including ...

Korg rack
Yes! this all points to the popular demand for Korg to release a rack K!
It is a possibility especially toward the end of the Kronos production line where Korg may well have enough K spares to make a short run of K racks!
We all hope so!

Sounds pretty damned decent to my ears I must say. Hell people! quit sliding around on this sampling issue! Who cares! if it sounds good use it! and accept that modern technology will always get closer if never right across the river like analogue does in one sure stride! I have used and still use a ...
