Adding new samples and multisamples to existing KSC files

Hi everyone, I have been using a Kronos (original) 88 key since 2013 and I finally purchased a K2 61 key that I plan on using for rehearsals and some gigs instead of lugging the 88 key around. I plan on moving some combis, programs and other sampling data to the K2, so I think this is a good ...

Thanks for your reply. I have a latching foot switch somewhere if I can find it, and that should work similarly to a half-moon switch (which I actually have been using with the Vent). Not sure if non-latching foot switches will work, but I can try with a sustain pedal later. The reason I'd prefer to ...

Controlling Neo Ventilator speed from Kronos

I've never really used my Vent on the Kronos yet but I'd like to try it by taking the mono signal from individual output to the Vent, and feeding the stereo signal back into the Kronos through the line inputs. Is there a way I can control the Vent rotary speed from the Kronos (e.g. JS+Y) or am I now ...

The crash and reboot happened while my iPhone was connected (perhaps I was charging it), although this was some time ago before I updated to the latest software. The issues with sustain "freezing" happened first when a FAT32-formatted USB stick was connected, and then today at rehearsal when my ...

Note sustain and stability issues with USB connected

I have had issues with stability on my 2011 KRONOS when USB devices are attached. Computers, phones and even USB sticks would cause the entire system to crash and reboot. After I updated to the lastest firmware (3.1.2) this was resolved. However I still have issues with sustain "freezing" on sounds ...

Sampling your own electric guitar?

I come from more of a jazz background, so I've not been using too much of the guitar sounds on the Kronos (2013 model). However I'm in a Dream Theater tribute project and (though as a keyboardist) I'm in need of a good electric guitar for background riffs when needed. I actually don't like any of ...

That's interesting. I think I have a powered hub somewhere, so I'll test this when I get home.

After that last reply I thought I'd check to be sure, just so that I'm not jumping to conclusions here. It turns out that this is a "malfunction" that I can provoke by connecting USB devices (Samsung tablet and/or iPhone 6s) to the instrument.

I tested this at home this time.

We have never had issues with unstable power supply at the place where we are rehearsing (on the contrary it's superb compared to other places that I know of). I am also using other sensitive equipment which had no issues, so I don't think that should be the problem.

But thanks anyway!

KORG KRONOS sudden reboot when USB devices are connected

I have an original KRONOS 88 (which I got in 2013). I have never had problems like this before, but at rehearsal yesterday the system suddenly started crashing over and over again. The crash was usually followed by another "crash" during boot with the following message: "SYSTEM STARTUP FAILED ...

Thanks for your thorough answer! Tracks ripped straight from the album is not the best way about it, for obvious reasons (I agree)! One place this could be tempting is the first note on Overture 1928 (very iconic and signature), but I'd rather make it myself based on internal programs (if I can ever ...

Thanks for your feedback guys, I guess I will have to get used to the footswitch in setlist mode. Having more of a jazz background I'm not used to switching rapidly between sounds like this :D I am currently working on Fatal Tragedy, and yes there will be a lot of sounds to play through. Since you ...

Can I change to the next combi by pressing specific key?

I have been hired to play keyboards on a Dream Theater project where we will be playing through the album Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory . For me as a keyboardist, this means plowing through a lot of sounds on my Kronos 88 (and fast as well). For the moment I'm either changing sound on the ...

That actually looks really nice! I always thought that the Oasys looked more rigid and solid compared to the Kronos, and these side pieces makes the Kronos look more Kampffahrzeug-ish. Awesome!

I'd love to do a 3D scan, but my money is better spent elsewhere :D As for SketchUp, I've never used that before but I do use SolidWorks on a daily basis as I'm working in product development. The hardest thing with making a model would be to find the time for it! And thanks for the tip, I'll take a ...
