I had a K&M Spider Pro but it ended up being too space-consuming for my tastes; now I have a K&M Omega setup with a 2nd tier and it works well. It does take more effort to adjust than the Spider (4x hand-operated screws to adjust the 2nd tier vs. like 1 on the Spider) but this is moot if you don't ...

I googled this out of curiosity and it led me all the way back to this old thread in this forum:

In short, it won’t work on the Kronos, at least if my understanding of the approach is correct.

Nothing to be jealous of other than maybe the new arps (since I haven’t figured out Karma sufficiently), but if I were buying today, a Kronos would be a tough sell. The key difference to me is the control surface. The programmable shortcuts are nice but long term I would hate to rely on that r ...

When selecting the upper corner menu "write program", "write program", or "write setlist" to save changes, you are only saving to internal memory, as Korg calls it. Yes, this automatically saves to disk in order to load again when Kronos is restarted. But it is only written to a hidden location ...

To preface this, I’ve only read the manual and a few posts about this since I haven’t tried swapping sounds this way myself. But doesn’t the Kronos use PRELOAD.KSC or whatever as the main / current source of everything unless you update the auto load settings somewhere in global? In that case all you ...

Re: Anyone Use New Roland Fantom with Kronos?

thank you for the post and your experience. Even though I don't own Fantom, I spent an hour on it, carefully reviewing acoustic instruments. Using a variety of acoustic instruments is a priority with my original material. I was disappointed that Roland loaded it with the usual 5080/XV or similar ...

Re: Anyone Use New Roland Fantom with Kronos?

I think I have lost hope of Korg ever creating another workstation. With that being said, has anyone splurged on the new Fantom to work alongside their Kronos? Thanks. are their sounds , or categories of sound where kronos is lacking/fallng short, and the new fantom fills any such gaps ? note I am ...

I have a Fantom 8 and a Kronos 6 and some limited experience working with the two together (mostly controlling the Kronos from the Fantom at this point). What are you looking to get out of the Fantom?

Whatever happened to the platinum limited edition Kronos from NAMM? It's even on Wikipedia now. Thought it'd be announced by now :? Korg doesn't necessarily read/respond to posts here. My guess is that the Platinum is going to have limited supply. Thus Korg won't make a big deal promoting it. I don ...

I thought I'd never give up my RD700NX for its piano sounds and action, but the Fantom 8 is making me reconsider... I had the RD700GX, also a beautiful piano key action. I sold it, [ and other boards] to make room for the Kronos 88 [2011]. It will be great to have a familiar key bed friend back ...

I thought I'd never give up my RD700NX for its piano sounds and action, but the Fantom 8 is making me reconsider... I hope they add the Supernatural pianos like the RD2000 since I am not convinced by the stock v-piano sounds in demos. Would need to try them for myself.
