To complete the story. I brought the keyboard to the store and it was discovered that the voltage regulator for the LCD screen were spoilt. It was replaced and the screen works.

Hi Lim, I take it that you meant the LCD contrast setting. That is quite obvious. The contrast setting has to be set at 60% only, anything less or more will darken the screen. I am not too sure that the PA500 monochrome LCD screen has a backlight setting, or at least not that I am aware off. Anyway ...

Fellow KORG Users I bought a brand new PA 500 less than a month ago and last week while playing I heard a 'strange' noise coming out of the speakers despite putting the volume to zero. The strange noise is like someone searching for radio stations. I shut off the machine and attend to it later ...
