The sequencer keeps me from buying it. I would rather keep the resistive screen if Korg used it in any way. The resistive screen is more accurate and you could, for example, draw your own waveforms with a stylus. Resistive screens also use less electricity and processing power and are cheaper as ...

Comparison of engines?

Have anyone compared Kronoses engines to sounds coming from different versions of the synths, plugins, iOS and real deals?

Any media files to share? Any observations to tell?

I have been waiting for update too, but my list is completely different. Which is quite a dilemma with these multifunction synths; every one has different demands and soon the feature list becomes pretty taxing to fulfill even for a big company. I am rather satisfied with Kronoses effects. Nothing ...

Yamaha is not alone; Roland also has very good, very believable guitars. And not just samples, I think their amp modelling sounds better, than what Yamaha has. And I have not even tried SuperNatural guitars yet. What comes to sampled guitars, Korg is not in the same league. But then again, Korg has ...

1. Increase LFO rate to 532hz. 2. Add an extra LFO. (Press LFO button a 3rd time and LED's for both Filter and Pitch will light up.) 3. Add an extra Envelope Generator. (Press EG button a 3rd time and LED's for both Filter and Amp will light up.) 4. Maybe add a step sequencer as a mod source, where ...

I think, that some of those bullet points are kind of small things and fattening the list of "why the Kronos is not an Oasys repackage" in vain though. Really? Which ones? Each one was a whole lot of work, I can assure you, and each also makes a significant difference in real-world use. I ...

Almost lost my tea through my nose with that one. Sure, it's an evolution of the OASYS, just as most products evolve from previous work. But, "repackage?" Seriously? Multicore, SST, SGX-1, EP-1, virtual memory for samples, Set Lists, User Sample Banks, etc., etc...that's a lot of new stuff, and a ...

Pretty sure I have seen Stephen Kay say this is never going to happen.
I'm pretty sure he didn't say never. I don't expect it though.

Any updates still coming, or was this all that they got?

Sorry for irritating tone; I'm still a Korg fan, and I view Kronos as best value and top quality synth on the market, but it has one or two odd omissions in it. I was certain, that Korg would introduce a big update for Kronos last Namm, but got a little worried, as nothing has happened for a long ...

My most wanted synths ever:
Kronos
Nord Modular
Alesis Andromeda
Kurzweil PC3
V-Synth

For the sake of this thread, I would say I'll get Kronos first and hunt down Alesis Andromeda after that. But I'm going to get rest of them later, perhaps at that point there will be their sequels.

This topic would be much more interesting, if Korg would have made their promise™ to keep developing the workstation as a platform and introduce even further additions to engines and effects. Then the processor choice would at least have given us hints about the potential of growth, but because at t ...
