I send mine through a EHX Small Stone Phaser for that authentic phased effect. Excelent on bass and noise patches when combined with the MS20 filter. Also i send it through a small clone chorus unit which is great at retaining the original warmth through the effect. Both of these are 100% insert ...

SQ-1 Sequencer Sync In, Midi Out

I am looking at purchasing the SQ-1. I have a zoom R24 multi track recorder which i wish to sync to midi. It can send a metronome/WAV file pulse from an isolated output (the headphones) which i plan to convert to a MIDI clock pulse to sync up my synths via MIDI. I have been reading across forums etc ...

can you program it to make sequence with a tb-303-like accent??? No individual steps are not able to have glide switched on or off. The glide though is controllable and very effective but affects all steps. The 8step can be sent to either or both MS20 filters so if you have midi note coming in to ...

Most encouraging! I found out that the store I bought my mini from has one of these and up until recently, the synth guy there had it jacked up to the demo MS20. Gonna go dwn in the weekend and see if I can get him to demo it for me. yes its really good for the ms20. has a stable clock too. one ...

Thanks

I got mine Saturday. And found it to work very well. It seems to be exactly what I thought it would be. I found out the glide and depth affect the 1 to 5vdc output a lot. Setting the 8steps depth to about 4 and then adjusting the Ms20's modulation amounts in total allows the depth adjustment to be ...

I just received mine in the mail a few hours ago. I can't figure it out. I tried several things but no luck. Any Tips? I have still to receive mine. I have great plans for it. It does not have a trigger out so it cant send CV and note triggering but midi is better for that any way. So its going to ...

I have been reading around on forums and found out the ms20 is very noisey. Its inherent from copying the old circuits. http://www.gearslutz.com/board/electronic-music-instruments-electronic-music-production/846401-clarifying-ms-20-minis-noise-issue.html I have a fairly low noise threshold in my ...

Electro-Harmonix 8 Step Sequencer

I just bought this: http://www.ehx.com/products/8-step-program it looks like a perfect partner for the MS20 mini. Using 0 to 5vdc control voltages as its output. Any body used it yet here? any tips? On Paper it seems to be able to solve the midi sync problem that the LFO and filters have within the ...

Absolutely. You can even buy stackable cables like these http://www.rubadub.co.uk/tiptop-audio-stackcables-90cm-black-eurorack-multi-patch-cabes The cables have arrived, have been using them. Very good quality. Work really well. I must recommend KORG MS20 mini owners to get these cables as it ...

Noise

Is anybody else finding that the headphones output is very noisey? white noise coming through with a key pressed, especially when the signal level is greater than 5.

Thanks for that. I shall trawl through my old tangled cables and see if I can muster a mono splitter. Seems the manual never mentions that its possible to send a source to multiple destinations. and yet it opens up the patch bay far more.:) :) :) not just the controller wheel but...... other ...

Patching questions

I am new to the MS20. but not new to synths. I was wondering is it possible to use the modulation wheel to change different characteristics of the sound simultaneously . eg 1. LFO mod of pitch 2. Filter cut-off frequency 3. Volume (VCA) There seems to be patches around that do one of the above but ...

thanks for the response. i dont do much with combi's only as starting grounds for multiple set ups. thanks for the tip. so am not worried about ruining existing combi's and some of them are just not my genre anyway and are a bit too conventional and not explorative. i think korg have showed too much ...
