Re: newly restored M3 module
Did manage to get a good photo, showing clearly what a difference this makes. One bit of a problem-although this LED kit expects 9-10V DC according to my tech, this is almost too bright, and does warm up the screen quite a bit, not sure why, I thought LEDs were supposed to run pretty cool. Looking ...

Re: newly restored M3 module
Still bench testing this mod-looks amazing. I'd post a picture but I can't capture the brightness and clarity with my cameras that really show what this looks like. Like the difference between an old laptop TFT display and an LED laptop. Dekatronix decided to update the fluorescent backlight ...

Re: newly restored M3 module
Months later, here is an important update and not very good news, although I have sent the M3 into Dekatronix as the technician there did a great job restoring my old Yamaha RM1x, which had some circuit problems I could not correct. The problem-the LCD screen, which apparently is not new as this ...

Bad replacement LCD screen for M3
Not even a year ago, I needed to replace the entire M3 LCD screen-not just the touchpad, but the entire screen, although the touchpad was also bad. I ordered a supposedly "new" LCD from a Chinese vendor-didn't seem anyone but the Chinese had these. The screen is already failing and according to my ...

Set song length
Zombie post, from Zombie musician-this little detail-push enter, then save or OK-similar to highlighting a section of a Windows computer page in software with the mouse or cursor, then typing an action, then hitting enter. the M3 has more than one function that needs this double entry action to work ...

Bricked M3
If you can transfer the files from the version 2.00 download posted here onto the internal SD card, it may boot up and work again. Might be worth checking anyway-there might not even be an internal SD card, depending on the condition you recieved it, the prior owner might have removed it (silly to ...

Restored Korg M3
Sorry I didn't post back sooner-life gets in the way. Yes, it is from part of a collection of sample sheets I kept from my uncle, who was a VP and design engineer with US Plywood back in the 50s-60s, when they were first starting to use exotic veneers for furniture and other building plans. I still ...

Korg button labels
I know this qualifies as a "zombie" post, but anyway-I used the smallest size of Casio labelmaker tape-they make a 3/8" width tape with black letters on clear background-I had to use lower case letters to fit these directly on the buttons, but these fit and look pretty indistinguishable from the ...

https://thumbs2.imgbox.com/89/dc/Fnr6eL6v_t.png [/url] Since the SP-500 has no joystick or other controller, I am trying one of these to use with the Korg M3 and other workstations, has a midi out din port and USB. Ordered from the UK, will take awhile to get here. The extra controls will be useful ...

Korg DH-1 half-pedal effect not working
Prefacing this-the pedal works electronically, I tested it through its range with a multimeter-and i see expected resistance changes as it should. I have all the correct settings in the M3 in order to have the half-pedal functioning with for example the 4-layer expanded acoustic piano, for the ...

newly restored M3 module
Here is a picture of my newly restored M3 module. A great addition to my battery of musical equipment. You can see I am using another Korg, an ancient but very playable Korg SP-500, as a controller. Why this one...it has the RH2 graded action-same as the Oasys but more so because the action is very ...

Thanks much Korganizr! Just what I needed to know. Yes there is a dump command for the song/sequencer memory. and Bome. sounds familiar-I am on Windows 7 which I've kept (all my drivers work) and I kept a legacy copy of XP on another computer for my older stuff. I can of course input sysex, hex but ...

Regarding PCG Tools. I recently acquired a rather unusual Korg-the SP500 which is now a part of my other Korgs the microKorg XL and microKontrol. I haven't tried yet, but is it possible PCG will be able to access any internal data from this though its midi ports? It seems to have no provision for ...
