PA300 how do I store my performance (not style) arrangements

Post by joned »

PA300.
how do I store my performance instruments (not style) arrangements. I like playing melody over USB midi or MP3 backing tracks by using my choice of instruments in tracks 1,2 and 3. Presently I'm saving the instruments I use by writing to a blank space in 'synth and ethnic', naming it, and writing to that space. I'm concerned that I'll run out of blank spaces to write to, and obviously don't want to overwrite an existing sound !
Is there a better way of saving my created sounds ?

regards to all

Use songbook feature.
You can even assign 4 sts settings along with the link to the backing tracks midi/mp3.
So each song has its own customizations. Then you can arrange your songs in custom lists etc.
worth a mention that you can also attach text files [lyrics/chords /notes to the song too.
Read theough the manual.

I did read the 'Songbook' explanation in the guide but confess I was a bit confused. I'll revisit 'Songbook' today and give it a go.
Many thanks...

Me also confused but working on it.

So when I have a mixer and I touch an instrument I get choices for other instrument voices.

But putting 3 voices together with 4 sts is a performance. And a performance can have a style attached if you want to use it.

Haven't worked with the sequencer but I could make a song with it like other keyboards.

And songbook can hold anything? a song created in the sequencer, an mp3 file, or performance... Anything else?

Thanks

song book holds references to actual elements and then stores some settings.
I suggest you guys hit the songbook button and play a song or two that comes pre configured. That should give you some idea (though they don't have any backing and hence their type is style)
Here is how i do it, experts can chime in their views/tips.
1. Go to song play mode and load your song. Mp3 or midi.
2. Set your performance for the first sts setting. like upper1, upper 2 ,upper 3, lower1
3. Click songbook button and hit book edit 1.
CLick new song and then write to new song. You can write all sts or just the current sts to to one of 4 sts slots.
4. Change your spunds to a different perfor, ance and write the song again with write current to whatever slot you want. Repeat until. You have it all. Thats all there to it. Then you can edit further in book edit 2 and 3 pages.
