Will all these Sound Libraries fit into my KRONOS 88X?

Post by SDDP »

Hopefully there's a KRONOS mathematician on board. I have the 88X (it came with 3gb of ram) and here the Sound Libraries I want to purchase.
I have not purchased anything and have kept it stock and want to see if I can have all these sound loaded at once when the keyboard boots up.

Here they are:

IRISH ACTS:
EXs 90

KAPRO:
EXs 118

KORG:
EXs 14

BOULDER:
101
102
103
108
Owned M1
Now Own:
Triton Studio 76
Kronos 88X

An analysis I did sometime ago on my kronos88 with 3Gb total, showed that on my K88, 1936 Mb is actually available for samples (rest is for OS etc)

All factory samples loaded is either 814 Mb, or 1009 Mb if you decide to load in all of the EXs3 samples.

So then you still have left 1122 or 927 Mb for other libraries

EXS90 consumes 225 Mb effectively (rest is dealt with by disk streaming)

I don't have the others libraries you mention, but the Boulder ones do not consume that much in my perception

Should all fit is my rough estimation

In case it doesn't fit, you may decide to unload individual multisamples you do not need to have more memory available for other samples

In any case, the Kronos is very flexible on this, allowing also to use/unload only the samples you need or do not need. Like this I have created a best of set that I use for my daily playing, which is a subset of 20 or so available sample sets
