Piano sound
Hi everyone, I'm not impressed with the factory piano sounds in the pa600... Would any one have better piano sounds?
Much appreciated....

I Agree with you on that one. Fortunately you can install a beautiful set of Steinway pianos for free in this set
https://www.dropbox.com/s/m79xyu991iorr ... T.zip?dl=0
The above set will work for the Pa3x/3xle/900/600. It contains 15mb of new samples of a Steinway and was provided generously by Antony Sharmann to Korg forum members.
You can read more about it in this link

For Pa300 owners you can install a cut down version without the new samples but with some improvement on the factory pianos here
Edit: New Link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ImZ3ME ... sp=sharing
Cheers,
John

My advice would be to use soft 1 or soft 3 in your global settings velocities to the same sounds that u not happy with now. Again I can advice you to go and source sounds from each of your styles and save those in your user banks. Those already have the effects that contribute to sounding the styles.
Try also this plan of using Grand Piano or Grand piano RX in upper 1 and Smooth or tine EP in upper 2. Try mixing the pianos with Eps across. Please put search in this forum for pianos posts and reading across them you will find other useful points.I have learnt that people use Smooth tine in othe keyboards to brighten the piano and make heavy.

The whole set only takes 15mb of PCM out of the 96mb you have available so you must have other PCM sounds loaded already. I'm not sure how it works on the Pa600 but on the Pa3x you can check available memory in Sound Mode by pressing the record button and looking at sampling information.

John

The Pa300 link has been fixed. It contains 8 modified pianos that will load to User 1 sounds. Don't forget to unzip the file first. You can unzip with Windows by right clicking and choose Open with.. File Explorer/Windows Explorer.
