hello my friends
I want to load some percussion samples on my keyboard.
what is your suggestion on db value?
I want the sample to be loud enough in the pa3x?
normalize command on pa3x will do the work, or another process
Is needed?
Thanks
Salman

All samples should be a 0dB. You can normalize on the Pa3X or in whatever software you own. It makes no difference what you use as 0dB is 0dB everywhere.

Me, I'm a hair conservative, still...
I have found some older CD players aren't that happy with 0db, and a hair of headroom for intersample peaks, never hurts. I tend to master to -.3dB of full ceiling. It can't hurt, can't really be heard, but it gives the D/A just a bit of breathing room. Who knows if it matters in the PA3X..?!
But I honestly doubt you'd run into anything untoward whether you normalize to full 0dB or a hair under. I simply prefer to not have to think about it at all by allowing a tad!
