You can calibrate it. Instructions in manual.

The sensitivity can not be changed on the Pa900.

I found using one of those stylus pens works every time.

Turn your hand over and use the tip of a fingernail - works every time.

You cannot use your finger like on the cell phone. The cell phone has a capacitive screen the PA does not. Two different type of touch screens. Reuben is correct, use the tip of your fingernail. I never have a problem and it works great.
The only stupid questions are the questions that have not been asked.

:) OK

But i guess, korg should have made it little more touch responsive since pa900 is not a $100 toy.

I must admit, my friend's PA3X (and I guess the PA900 is a similar type of screen) is MUCH harder to work accurately than my old G70's screen was. Whatever Roland chose was by far the better type of screen.

Unfortunately, I like to trim my nails VERY close to avoid shocks to my fingers through the nail when playing hard, so the 'use your nails' thing never worked for me!

Hopefully, Korg can look into different types of screens for the next generation... Once nearly everything you want to do revolves around those, their responsiveness and accuracy is paramount. The G70/E80 shows that such screen types DO exist...

BTW, this isn't just a PA3X/PA900 problem. I have played Korg's Kronos and found it quite hard to operate well. Only the Performance screen had selection areas large enough to accurately use them (but there aren't that many on one page, so are pretty big), but the general editing pages, the text is quite small (much smaller than most PA3 screens) and is quite difficult to hit accurately with a finger while playing. I guess a stylus is probably the answer to these too, but it's tough to hold one of those AND play at the same time!

Were I a Korg user, I'd be all over Korg to improve this... It's your primary access to the OS

Not sure how the newer screens stack up, but the older ones were a dead loss in bright outdoor conditions. Even cobbling together a makeshift shade doesn't do much for them.

Again, even with trimmed fingernails, I have no problems. It works like a charm. All you have to do is hit it with top of your fingernail. I don't understand what the big fuzz is all about. Just remeber there is so much information on the screen. I don't know about the Roland screen, so I cannot comment on it, having used alot of touch screens, for being a non capacitive screen this works great. At least on my keyboard.

Personally would hate it to be more sensitive - the Korg i30 was more sensitive and would always respond to finger-tip, however when I bought my PA1XPro it seemed more like pressing harder to get it to respond - I got into the "fingernail" habit and much prefer the accuracy and response reliability - also applies to my Kronos.

I just got a new pa900 and before reading this post, couldn´t pop the page menu (up right on the screen). i soupouse this happens because of its extreme location. tested both solutions suggested: calibration and pointing with a stylus. the first didnt help; the second works every time. thank you all.
