Display fades to white

Post by pkpiano »

My display fades to white within 30 seconds. When I Touch the brightness control, the display temporarily returns to normal. Then fades to white again in 30 seconds. Any ideas? See video: http://youtu.be/qG5e5gKGGPo

Probably just a dirty/oxidized potmeter traces.

Just fully turn the brightness potmeter few dozen times, fast to left and right to clean any dirty contacts.

It's the control just to the left of the Combi button. The potentiometer that is turned by the control knob can go "bad" over time, a bit like when the volume control on an amp goes noisy and crackles. A few turns left and right should sort it, if that is the problem.
