Korg still needs to finish the ARP. That will be summer Namm.
It's "old" but still not much touches it. If Korg did an OS upgrade of the biggest requests from the wish list and the right sound packs it'd be a slam dunk all over again. I say there's a LOT of life left in that hardware. Largely untapped IMO. The Kronos could easily be Korg's K2xxx series. Those of us that own hope it does!

I don't think they need to. Roland and Yamaha are not competing with the Kronos now. In fact, they haven't come out with anything workstation wise that is new since before the Oasys. Why should Korg do anything new? Workstations may be a thing of the past as we know them now. There does not seem to be enough demand in today's market.
I agree not much competing with the Kronos hardware wise, though I disagree workstations are a "thing of the past". At least for live work. I still have yet to see a TRULY compelling live app/setup that doesn't require MASSIVE amounts of tweaking and configuration to be usable in the real world.
For studio? The "Workstations" are becoming limited by comparison except for some novelty and classic sounds, and often that's emulated quite well now.
That said as long as there are gigging musicians that have strict requirements for reliability and immediacy of sounds/interaction, hardware will live on for the foreseeable future IMO.
