Korg PA900 Assignable footswitch

Does anyone know whether the Korg EC5 midi keyboard foot switch works with the PA 900 and is there an assignable footswitch control to jump from one song to the next if you are in say Jukebox mode or any other way while using song player to go to the next song or even the previous song?

There is no interface for the EC5 on the PA900.

You can use the KORG PS1 or PS3 Footswitch and assign SONGBOOK NEXT function to it.

I assume that means that there is no other midi foot controller available? Seems silly to have so many assignable foot controls but only be able to choose one of them?!

You could investigate the Behringer FCB1010.
I use this (since my PA1XPro) for functions like:-
UPPER and LOWER expression
PERFORMANCE selection
STYLE elements (FILLs, INTROs, ENDINGs, VARs etc...)
The PA900 User Manual has all the MIDI PCs and CCs required (e.g. page 317)

There is a nice PC editor for it too (free!!! - Get it here:- http://host.mtnsys.com:81/faq-fcb/PCEditorBeta.htm)

I may go ask Korg support directly as I understood that someone with a PA2 used the EC5 and if the Behringer works for the PA1 it could still be that neither work on the PA900!

The PA2 has the 6 pin EC5 din interface. The PA900 does not. Both keyboards have MIDI ports. The FCB1010 uses the MIDI ports.

OK thanks.. when I originally saw the EC5 I thought it was a standard midi connection... so the Behringer may be the way forward unless someone knows of another midi foot controller with maybe less pedals?

Does anyone know whether using the Behringer FCB1010 if it is possible to switch the microphone and harmonies on and off and page down etc with lyrics, i.e. use the assignable footswitch controls?

If so, what are the CC/PC numbers please?

I have had confirmation from Korg that hardly any of the assignable foot pedal functions can be controlled and definitely not by Behringer FCB1010 as it doesn't transmit correctly for these.

So why hasn't Korg considered adding an interface to the next OS so that ad adaptor could be used with the EC5 or something new?

I wanted to use several of the abundant number of assignable functions by using a foot controller/pedal not be limited to one or two

This pedal does transmit everything correctly PC/CC etc... but some of the functions you are referring to have more complex SYSEX.

I wonder if you can capture this when recording a sequence and then check the MIDI data?

Agree though!! Why Korg removed the EC5 capabilities is beyond me - EC5 and Behringer FCB1010 is a fantastic combination.

(MIDI IMPLEMENTATION MANUAL WOULD BE GREAT !!!!)
