Microkorg controlling sounds of Kaossilator Pro

Post by brokengem »

I recently purchased the Korg Kaossilator Pro and was hoping that there is a way to expand my sound library through the sounds on this machine, but be able to control them via the Microkorg.

Is this possible, and if so how to I hook things up to make this work? And are there settings I need to adjust to make this work?

Thanks.

Sorry dude...Kaossilator pro is not a synth module. It does not receive midi messages. However it will send them and most importantly you can send specific scales to your microKorg and play your microKorg with out ever hitting a wrong note. Plus with the Kaossilator pro in external model you can extend the octave control over your microkorg.

Hope this helps.

To be more specific the KPro does not respond to note on messages. It is controlled by CC's. Someone wrote a program to do some translation using a PC in the middle. You can read about it in this thread.

But as SMK already said, the KPro is not designed to be a synth module. There are a few other discussions about this in the forum but you won't find a solution other than using some sort of midi translation.
