Computer Software advice/help

Post by Konut »

Hey folks,

I'm new to the microstation but I have an idea in my head of how I want to set this thing up to work for me. I want to hook it up to my computer and use the default sounds to make four/eight bar measures to use as loops to create entire songs. Essentially I want to do exactly what the built in sequencer does, but I want to be able to view it on a preferably free computer program so I can more easily drag and drop specific sections to streamline the composing process. If anyone has any links, advice, or videos that could help please let me know!

You might want to look at Presonus Studio One Free - the lightest version of their DAW software. Doesn't include many bell & whistles, but should be able to accomplish your stated goals.

Also - anybody know if Reaper is still basically "free"? Or has it moved up permanently to paid?

REAPER has a free trial version and is still very affordable for a licensed version. I think like $60.
