Hello Friends,
I bought a focusrite scarlett studio and got cubase LE6 with it. So now i download Pa3x usd midi drivers and installed them. They installed properly, but Cubase is not recognising PA3x as a midi device. Infact i can see PA3X in device manager and is correctly setup.
I even download a MIDI -ox app to check if it is working properly but when i run this app, It says cannot find any midi devices connected.
Any help guys...what am i doing wrong??
I have tried reinstalling and restarting the Alienware!!
Thanks,
Vikram

Hello,
Well with some searching on youtube, i was finally able to resolve the issue but editing a few entries in the windows registery.
If anybody else is facing this problem, you need to edit a few entries in registry as windows has already mapped a few channels to other unused devices and hence when you install Korg uSB midi driver, it pushes it back to above 10 channels.
So you need to empty a few front channels and then use it.
Thanks,
Vikram

Since Windows7 there are no more MIDI drivers available.Rob Sherratt wrote:Yes it is a bug in MS Windows that is in all versions, never fixed by MS.Shahin wrote:long time no see vikram !thanks for the trick. it seems weird though, does it mean every body has faced this problem?
In XP I had no problems using a USB to MIDI cable on my laptop, but when I bough a new laptop,
no MIDI device was regognized.
Korg provided a MIDI to USB driver, only a USB cable, so that's what I use now.
I noticed that Miditzer for example recognizes 2 midi channels instead of 1 on the old laptop.

Here is the link for the Korg MIDI USB device driver, which is compatible with Windows 8, 7, Vista & XP, in 32 and 64 bit configurations:
http://www.korg.co.uk/downloads/driver/dl_driver.asp
Having unpacked and installed the driver you have to run it from the Start menu to configure your MIDI devices before you can use them. The nice thing with the Korg MIDI driver is that it recognizes all MIDI compatible devices on your computer, not just Korg ones. It also allows you to remove any devices you don't want to use.
Also if the number of detected /active MIDI devices exceeds 10 then Windows will not recognize device 11, 12 etc. This is a known Windows bug which MS have never fixed, and is not the fault of the Korg device driver.
