Korg Kronos Problemes with Mac

Post by Felix50 »

Hy,

i am new here, i am from Germany.
i have a kronos 61 and Mac.
It tooks me a long time to anderstand whats going on between the kronos
and the Mac.
The Mac writes a lot of files on a USB drive when it was formated on the kronos and you use it on the Computer.
1) downlod on Google the Hidden cleaner 2.01 App
2) Install this App on your Mac
When you work on the Kronos an use an USB Drive that you put later on the Mac ... Drag and drop the USB Drive on the Icon of the Hidden Cleaner App
thats on your Desktop ( On the USB drive Every Metafiles from Apple wil be deleted automaticaly and the USB Drive will be Ejected).
WHY ????
When you put a USB Drive on the Computer and later on the Kronos,
There are Files that makes a lot of Problemes for Exemple
1) The VS100 in a folder ( the kronos is not abble to delete this Folder )
2) When you have this File in a Folder, The Kronos is not Abble to write, To Save in this Folder and a lot more.
Since i am Using the Hidden Cleaner everything works great on the Kronos.
I Hoppe i can help.

Thanks

Hey Felix,
Just to clarify I also had this problem with Kidnepro's download which I tried via the Korg website with a PC as well. I am not sure that my issue is exclusive to the Mac. Thanks for the info though.

sorry i forgot to write that the Metafiles also exists with Windows,
but i work on a mac. I am sure there is also an free Application like

The Problem is not Windows or Mac
The Problem is Kronos, because it reads all Files, also unokwn.
I allready called Korg Germany but they never changed something.

I have no such issues in Windows. About a year ago I formatted my USB drive on the Kronos and switched back and forth a lot between the Kronos and my Windows PC with no issues at all.
Nowadays I have my Kronos attached to my computer network, which makes file transfer a lot more convenient.

Also, if you use an FTP client you should be able to configure it so that it doesn't transfer these metafiles. I use Fetch on the Mac it it works just fine. FTP has many advantages including speed of transfers and it's much better file manager. The only time I use a stick is for OS updates as I believe it's required.

Agree this is the way to go. Being able to ftp to my Kronos is the greatest advancement in keyboards for me. So easy to move files back and forth and fast.

I just formatted my USB on the Kronos last week and I still am having this issue. But with Qui's help he got me through it. I did not have his help with Kidnepro's download issues.

Félix why dont you tell spotlight to stop indexing your external drives?
You can do this by going to system preferences, spotlight and then click the privacy tab. Then click On the plus sign and add "/Volumes" then press return key. Now any external hard drive or USB stick wont be indexed as well as not adding the trash folder either. Hope this helps ;)
