Oasys Won't Boot Up

Post by awatu »

Hi Guys

Turned my Oasys on and only heard the sound of the fan and a brief showing on the screen of an icon of a desktop computer and computer monitor, both w/cables not connecting and an "X" between the cables...

While it seems clear that there is a disconnect, I am wondering what anyone might be able to tip me off to as the specifics ofwhat this could mean ...I get the feeling it might be expensive but I just thought I'd put it out there.

Thanks, much ...I really appreciate any visibility you can provide

Cheers, ...Sman.

I , also, have experienced this…

Try this… open the Oasys up and where possible , wherever there is a multi pin cable connection , undo it and re-connect it.

Do this gently , of course !

The connectors oxidize from time to time and by unplugging and re-plugging, it should eliminate that oxidation and hopefully normal
boot-up will happen.

Particularly with the flat grey lead that connects the screen. I've heard of folks sorting this problem that way.

Good luck - hope your O gets better soon!

Wont boot up

Post by pgrant »

Had the keyboard for several years in studio never on the road. I noticed when switching between combi's that there was a significant latency. Turned it off as it had been up for several months hoping that would do the trick only to get the blue KORG logo on a white background. And there it remains. Tried unplugging it, booted several time, removed all cables from the unit and to no avail. This is really a bummer. If anyone has any suggestions, I would be forever grateful. All the best - Paul

You can get electric contact cleaner which you could use on the connector once un plugged and then plug back together.

If your in the UK Maplins sells it.
Wish you the best of luck
Hope this helps
