"Reincarnated" - new set of KARMA-Lab combis!

Post by StephenKay »

Image

Reincarnated has now been released, for the Korg OASYS!

Karma-Lab has released "Reincarnated - Groove Nirvana" ($32), an exciting new set of
32 KARMA-fied combis for the Korg Kronos and Korg OASYS. The OASYS version can be
loaded directly into the OASYS, or used with the optional KARMA Oasys software.
Programmed by Scott Raposa and KARMA Developer Stephen Kay, the set represents
hundreds of hours of work over the last year, yet is reasonably priced at only $1 per combi.

Each combi is composed of a full 4 KARMA Modules and 8 fully-voiced scenes for maximum
variability, featuring extensive real-time control via the KARMA Realtime Controls (8 sliders,
8 switches) and the other controllers (joystick, ribbon, 8 RT sliders/knobs, Vector Joystick
and 2 switches over joystick).

Each combi is fully and meticulously documented in the accompanying 71 page User’s Guide,
which is loaded with tips on how to get the most out of each KARMA Performance The set
includes grooves and sonic textures in a wide variety of styles, ranging from a mixture of
Hip-Hop, Dance, Electronica, Trance & Techno categories to Ambient, Jazz, New-Age &
World/Ethnic categories.

"Reincarnated" is our second set of KARMA-fied combis, joining the extremely popular
Catalyst Volume 1 - another great set you might consider if you don't already have it.

Note: if you're new to Korg and the OASYS, you may not be aware that Karma-Lab is
KARMA Developer Stephen Kay's company. As the inventor of KARMA, nobody programs
KARMA to the degree that we do. If you want big, bold, full, robust KARMA combis with
inspiring and intricate parts that have 8 full scenes of completely different variations, each
capable of driving the creation of new song ideas, then this is the set for you.

Note: Reincarnated is "inspired by" some of the 64 Reincarnation Volume 1 combis for
the original Karma Workstation and KARMA Triton software - hence the name "Reincarnated".
We say "inspired by" because not all of the GEs in the original Karma are available in the
OASYS version, and even the ones that are perform differently since the OASYS version is
KARMA v2 (with 8 scenes and 5 control layers, and new features like Note Maps, KARMA
Wave-Sequencing and others), and the earlier products were KARMA v1 (2 scenes and one
control layer). Not to mention the programs available in the OASYS are completely different,
as are parts of the effects architecture. Some of the combis are completely new, while others
bear some varying degrees of resemblance to the originals they are based on. All of them
will prove extremely entertaining and useful in creating song structures in various styles.
If you once had a Karma Workstation or KARMA Triton with Reincarnation Volume 1, you
will find some old friends and make some completely new ones!

More info, including the combi list, audio demos, video demo and the extensive User's Guide:

Reincarnated Page

[Watch the video!] (Karma-Lab Media Player - Flash)
[Watch the video!] (YouTube - alternate link)

While the audio and video demos are performed on the Korg M3, rest assured that the
functionality is identical on the OASYS, and of course it sounds even better.

More demos may be posted in the future. For those of you who don't require demos to
know you want it, Reincarnated can be ordered from the Karma-Lab Store for $32
- that's $1 per combi - where else can you get about two days worth of work (on each
combi) from professional KARMA/Korg programmers for a dollar? :)

Buy Reincarnated

Enjoy! :soundsgood

Stephen,

Very many thanks for this for the O. I have Catalyst which I use frequently so this addition will compliment. Tremendous. One thing--Catylist for me defaults to Combi User Bank B taking up the first 32 slots. I would like Reincarnated to follow on sequentially from 33. Me and IT don't mix sometimes. What is the procedure to achieve this?

Regards,
Patrick
I'm ok when I get to the music. The Oasys 88 sees to that.

AH, it seems self-explanatory in the manual I've just viewed ! I've ordered the CD-ROM version as my download speed is absolutely atrocious and unreliable. I hope all goes well. Fingers crossed.

This collection really rocks! Well worth the $1/per combi.

The flute improv GE for those killer fusion guitar lines on "Epic Rock in 7" had me playing for hours and the "Yellow Frog" was hopping all over the place! "Serious Chill" will have you chillin' like a muh!

A nice complement to Jim's (EJ2) Catalyst1 collection. Hey, speaking of that, when is that Catalyst 2 coming out?

The story I did over at Karma Labs Forum transmogrified into this creature from the Reincarnated set. Lively bunch of characters on these forums...the tilting at windmills comment came from Dany in response to an over the top Gearslutz post (originally from Don Quixote but it's still mighty funny).

Ah yes, The Long Fairytale...

In the land of Karmalot, there lived a king, King “O.” He lived in the Trance Mansion with his queen, the Golden Goddess. King O presided over his musicians of the realm, the Trance Collective and all was well until some Mysterious Karma caused Sir Trancealot to take a fancy for the Golden Goddess. Some say this was due to the influence of Bellzabub, others say it was because he had become a Dark Soul and still others say it was because The Serpent, being the most crafty of all the creatures of the field, had beguiled him with a lust for the fruit.

So he says, he says to her, he says, listen fair maiden, it’s 3AM, so Walk With Me and I will explain your most Lucidreams. So Sir Trance and the Goddess go up the hill, each had a quarter, the Goddess returned with 50 cents, you think they went for water?

And the kingdom was never the same and no one was found worthy to wield the sword…that is until Aragorn….WHOOPS! Wrong fairytale!
There once was a Bilbo named Hobbit…

(Must be gettin’ ready for the new Tolkien cinema treat from Middle Earth!)

Bottom line…get Reincarnated and get ready for some Serious Chill!

THis combi wasn't even in my Reincarnated fairytale list, but just had that special something once I started editing. Had a blast turning this one into another Soundworld Jazzer.
