I'm considering upgrading to the Kronos due to the available 12 Insert Effects.
I create large combi's and end up having to sacrifice sound due to the limited amount of effects on the M3.
Some "Program" guitars on the M3 use up 3-4 insert effects and copy them over to Combi as a starting point. I then run/share the Bass, Piano, Dr Kits, Organs. ect sounds with the guitar effects or with the available slots. Not many left to choose from...
So...
On the Kronos, do the Programs use up all the Insert Effects so the when using them as a starting point in Combi mode, are you left with 1 or 2 effects to use or work with for other sounds?

Most of the programs use 2 or 3 effects, so mostly 4 sounds will play with their original effects.

Thanks.
Alot of the music we do is more guitar oriented so I try to replicate them which doesn't leave any effects to work with for other sounds.
Its becoming a deal breaker at this point.
I'm in the process of raising the funds to get a Kronos. I'm going to sell my gear once I can pay the difference to get a Kronos.
I'm not too far away from my goal.
Once again, thanks for the reply.

Just to help you get started once you get your Kronos;
There's a feature many people apparently miss that'll make your life easier when setting up combis. As on the M3, you can select "copy from program" and include the FX. When you add another program, you can again select "copy from program" but then check "copy all used" IFX as opposed to just "all". Then it will automatically take all used IFX, put them in the next empty slot, and route your timbre to them appropriately. Very nice feature when building combis!
Remember that it only works for IFX, not MFX or TFX, but that kinda makes sense in a combi anyways.

I also think that the Kronos doesn't use too much IFXs anyway compared to previous workstations.qrobinez wrote:i've created lots of combis for the Korg M3 and now for the Kronos, i can assure you that 12 IFX are more then enough for everything you wanted to do. I found it a big upgrade compared to the M3.
