I prefer black because it is understated and classy. Yes I do agree that what matters is inside but I have to confess (nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition) that I do not like the color of my Fantom X and I find the Fantom G even more appalling.
IF I had to choose another color however, I would choose a very deep blue. I like the Kurzweil PC3's deep blue because it looks black under most lighting conditions but that hint of blue still shows through, so for me, I have the best of both worlds.
Now if I would make it big like McCartney - ain't gonna happen of course - I would have a false spinet casing built around an 88 key Kronos. If any of you have ever seen McCartney play live, he uses a real concert grand and also for a portion of his show a cased synth that looks like a spinet that came out of the Sgt. Pepper sessions! My design would reflect:
The United States - the country of my birth
The Netherlands - the country I now call home
Greece - the country that represents my religion (Eastern Orthodox Christian)
Italian - I am 3/4 Italian
Irish - I am 1/4 Irish
And of course not TOO near the Irish flag, the flag of Britain whose music - in terms of rock - has influenced me more than any other.
What a strange looking instrument that would be!!
