korg pa3x STS writing

Post by tommark69 »

Hi there, In pa3x I'm unable to write the performance settings to STS. While doing so, the message 'factory style protected' comes. Even if I change setting in 'Media' it happens when I switch on again. Please give a solution for this. Thanks

You have to un-check the box to permit overwriting factory settings each time you power on the keyboard.

Thank you DonM. Is it possible to re-load the saved STS performances from external memory(USB memory stick) after un-checking the box to permit over writing?

Another option is to save the STS settings in a Songbook entry. You can do this without overwriting the Style.

If you can get it to work. SOMETIMES I have trouble writing STS to new songbook entries. The PA3X looks like it's saved the STS ok, but next time the song is selected it's back to the original style version of STS. Other times it works perfectly - same method, same key presses, same everything. At first I thought it was me and how I was doing it, but now I am sure this PA3X does some strange things from time to time.

Hi Steve
there may be an undefined OS-bug, which is already on the PA2.
After saving an sts in the songbook, the written new sts-name will not appear in the display.
In this case you must reselect this sb-entry new.
Than the new written name of the new sts will appear in the display.
And the writing was successful.
When you had selected an other sb-entry, you would loose the written sts.

This mistake ist not shown every time. But sometimes and no one can say when it happens.
The shure way is to select the whole sb-entry new, after writing an sts.
Best regards from germany
