MIDI Dump help needed !!

Post by tornado »

Floppy disk drive on i4S Arranger Workstation has died.
Have found several references on here that using MIDI dumps send/receive can replace the functions of the FDD and have managed to dump all data from a working i4S to computer, saved as a sysex file
However, when I try to send sysex file from PC to i4S, I get a memory overflow message and all arrangemenbt settings have been ruined/lost.
Using MIDI-OX
Can anyone assist, I'm losing patience with an excellent keyboard ruined by an inferior, unreplaceable disk drive??!!
Help!!!
Thanks

Update & Success!!

Purchased the floppy drive belts from www.bustedgear.com , followed the instructions, dismantled keyboard underside, removed and dismantled floppy drive, no soldering required, removed stretched floppy disk drive belt and replaced with new and Hey Presto !!...a working Korg i4S with fully working disk drive !! Saved a lot of money by trying this and finding success !
Have now sorted two!!
