Korg R3 Stand???

Post by TVH11 »

Hi there, recently purchased an R3, and finding it extremely enjoyable and effective in a live practice environment (giving my bands stuff a "poppier" edge).

My "big" dilemma comes in the form of playing with it live. I'm the lead singer/rhythm guitarist of the band, and therefore will be using the R3 only in certain songs to add a different dimension/texture.

I need a stand that will be sturdy and small enough to hold the R3 in place while I can stand, continuing to sing and switch back and forth to guitar.

I don't particularly want to spend lots of money on stands (don't need a "bottom" tier for a bigger keyboard either).

Very sorry for my list of demands, Its just I don't want my R3 going flying off a bouncy stage and smashing into a million pieces like my midi keyboard.

Many Thanks in advance for any replies

Inexpensive and sturdy solution:

Although I have no R3, my Korg Radias Keyboard has a unique rack/frame and I have a customized ATA case for it that it lives in and just have to take the deeper 7/8 off and radias keyboard+frame remain in the typical smaller half of the case, sitting on a FLAT keyboard rack stand. Have always loved my On Stage Stands heavy duty two tier that is virtually indestructable that my heavy Alesis QS8 sits on bottom as mainly a proper weighted piano key action and piano rom is gr8--but also as a master midi controller, with virus kb living in top rack. So I decided to check out OnStageStands for the VERY solution you need, just a different keyboard and for $57.95+ free shipping, search the well-known music places on web for that price and this: On Stage KS7150 Table Top Keyboard Stand--it holds 230 LBs, has an extendable flat/table top support that width can be 29--431/2 inches, and adjustable height 26--43 inches with no compromise on weight or integrity. Black and there's even so much extra legroom that you can set a kybd amp or rack, etc under and to the side. Do not let the price fool you into it being crappy as it is welded and bolted, plus once you put it together firstly, set-up is a breeze and I just make a sharpy mark on the extended height adjusting legs and a carpenter's level superglued to it as a mod--hope this helps! I did not mention a music store website as did not know if that was taboo as am new on forum as a recently retired/disabled veteran getting back into music/home recording but some places sell this for as high as $137. but if you know what I mean by looking at AMS website, there you go! I call it my "coffin stand" because when Radias has top half of ATA case on it, well, it looks rather gothic to say the least:-) Let me know if this works out for you! Peace!
