Korg PS60 Help

Post by Dennis747 »

My question is:
How do you record incoming MIDI on the Korg PS60?

My original problem is in this post:
http://korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/view ... hp?t=67718

(I would prefer an answer from someone who owns a PS60 but I appreciate any responses)

Thanks In advance,
-Dennis

The PS60 doesn't have a sequencer so you can't record anything with it.

midi sequencing

Post by GeePee »

Why do you want to (re)record your songs/sequences? You can use the PS60 as sound module and/or master keyboard. That´s the way I use it. All my songs and scores are stored in computers which are connected to the PS60 via usb and midi. Editing sequences is much more convenient with a large display and computer. You can find tons of freeware on the internet for recording and editing midi.

Good luck,

no u guys misunderstand a little, i got a file from a website called musicnotes.com... but what that file is, is sheet music of a certain file extension which can only be read by their software. It can export midi, but i cant save the actual midi file.

thanks

Your original question:

"How do you record incoming MIDI on the Korg PS60?"

was unclear....

I suggest contacting tech support for the company that created the software you mentioned and ask them how to proceed, unless you have a free demo, in which case they will ask you to purchase a full version of their software.

software for midi

Post by GeePee »

The best software for midi is surely not the one you described. If you search on the internet, you´ll see something else, which is able to read and write standard midi files. Some of them are completely free, including notation etc. I use an earlier version of Finale Notepad
http://www.finalemusic.com/NotePad/Default.aspx
and I used the free version of LogicFun earlier too.
Both of them are good enough for learning and starting to compose.

Good luck!
