My EMX is acting weird. Please help!

Post by Zemata »

On Korg's website, I can't find an email address, phone number, NOTHING! My Electribe MX-SD is acting wonky and I don't know why. When I jam on the arpeggiator, it triggers some of the knobs (glide, speed, level, drive, etc.) and just changes them to random integers. This only happens when I press on the ribbon part.

I'm very concerned as my EMX is the heart of my music making setup and I was just about to finish a song on it. Has anyone else ever had this problem? Is there any way at all I can contact Korg?

I'm having the exact same problem on my EMX-1 (smart media version) but it also sometimes does it when I am using the fader as well. its really concerning cos I'm now nervous to jam on the arp live cos it usually ends up with it changing a parameter that screws whatever part i'm working on. Not sure how to correct this... nothing in the manual about linking the arp to other parameters and nothing on any sites that i've found. I'm going to try warming up my EMX before gigs and making sure each and every knob gets turned thru its full rotation. Maybe its just "gritty" potentiometers.. but if somehow the arp function is shorting into other parameters its very worrying. I'll keep you posted if I find a way to eliminate this problem... and it's a major problem!

my advice for now... save regularly, then you can atleast return the changed parameters to original value (which is displayed on the LCD when the knob is at the value the parameter was when the pattern was saved)
