Hi Guys, new to MIDI here.
My question is:
How to send MIDI bank change and patch select message from ESX1SD without changing the pattern?
My scenario is:
I have ESX1SD as Midi master connected to a multitimbral synth (Yamaha MM6) as Midi slave. I have a pattern sequenced on ESX1SD and played on the slave module. (it was created time ago using only samples). Everything is successfully playing on MM6.
Question is:
How to change the instrument on the ESX1SD keyboard parts? If I use the dial knob it also changes the pattern. I want only the keyboard part.
Details:
So my idea is to be able to use some of the basses of my MM6 along with some drums and use ESX1 as a sequencer. Fine. As I connect the MIDI cable and ESX1 already have some setup which is fine to play one of the drumkits from MM6. I can also hear 2 keyboard parts playing, guess the first two on the MM6. Cool. But I want to be able to create new pattern with different keyboard parts (and drum kits) or at least editing this one and changing current keyboards with another patches.
According to ESX1SD official manual, the dial knob changes both bank and patch. This really works. But changes the pattern as well. So imagine I have a pattern playing already and I want to change the patch for keyboard part 1, turn the dial and it changes also the pattern and the new one continues to play. Also when I create patterns now, I use different samples for each pattern usually. So I want to be able to use different midi patches on each pattern.
Anyone help please?
Thanks

If I'm understanding your question properly, you just push the part button, which changes which menu the large knob controls. In the MIDI menu you can change the MIDI Channel for each part so that you can control each timbre of your synth with a different part on the electribe.
