sewa - July

Post by sewa »

Hi,

here's my July tune, called 'Burnout'. Not that I'm completely burnt out but it was the first title that came into my head. Perhaps it has something to do with us being on holidays with our 8-month daughter

Being on holidays I only have my laptop+25 USB keyboard+headphones. I'm therefore not sure how the mix will translate on other systems. I put a lot of time into getting the mix right as there are a lot of tracks that needed volume/panning automation. Let me know how it sounds on your speakers.

Musically, I have been inspired by Daft Punk and their soundtrack for 'Tron Legacy'. When I first heard the second song on the album 'the Grid' and the lead that falls on you at 0:46 I found myself looking for the right words to express my feelings. However, f*****g brilliant fits best, I can't help it.

Anyway, here's the song: http://www.sewa-music.com/Site/music.html Alternatively you can watch a youtube video featuring this soundtrack, although under a different title: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBcqDngPpGE I made it during a rather long train trip in Poland.

I hope you will enjoy both the videoclip and the music.

cheers!

Ok, finally got my new pair of headphones (Shure SRH 840), so I can now listen to this one properly. My old ones broke unfortunately.

I think the whole song sounds solid. Well paced, nice high tech melodies... It would be perfect for a video game, or even like part of a soundtrack to a movie. I almost think of a futuristic racing movie or game when I hear this. The only thing though is when the pads really start to come in, the drums kinda get drowned into the background a bit. But I think it mostly has to do with the snare sound. Not really a problem, just something I noticed.

Another well-done song here. Really enjoyed it!

Cool panning in the beginning. I love the chirpy thing. The overall sound is great, but I agree that I think all the drums could be brought up some. Good strong simple song that gets right to the point. The movement is fun and does evoke travelling forward somehow.

Thanks a lot guys; someone else also mentioned the drum volume so it appears to be an issue.

Meanwhile I'm packing up for my trip to the U.S. I'm renting a car in San Francisco and I intend to drive up to Montana and the Glacier National Park :D

I'll keep the August deadline though

cheers

Hello Sewa and

Thanks for the song!! Very nice and the synth sounds feel "organic" in a way Also enjoyed the pans and the rhythm as well Not much to take away from this

And on the perc. vol...

Its fine for me but then I like it a bit lighter coming from a classical background.... as I do

Overall its a great sound and quite satisfactory!!

Regards Always John :D
