Reluctant possible pre-order cancellation.

Post by Ksynth »

After all the delays I'm considering cancellation of the pre-order of the Kronos 73. I'm getting concerned about the possible quality issues that may be involved.

I think somebody at Korg needs to address their clients regarding the Kronos delivery.

Unless we hear something from Korg I will just cancel and see what happens after September or October or November or....

It's a KORG. What quality issues could anyone be worried about?

Although a catastrophic disaster may have had some bearing on delays this time......

Still no reason to cancel though! 8)

Korg has obviously started Kronos production (since forum member Jahrome in Japan purchased one). I would assume the delay is a matter of slower than anticipated production.

You can cancel if you want, but Korg has delayed the release of products in the past, and when you add in the impact of the tsunami, a delay doesn't really surprise me.

Think twice before cancelling as they are going to be sods to get hold of for the first few months. I don't think there are any quality issues, Korg are pretty good and will have ironed them out well before going live with the Kronos promos.

I just can't imagine how a data wheel could fall off when using it properly, not *extremely* hard or fast. Maybe the mentioned issue was a hardware defect?
Do we know how it happened in details?

I have a list of M50 owners who would say "a keyboard that no longer works because of bad caps." The issue is obviously much larger than we were lead to believe.

Just sayin'
Current Korg Gear: KRONOS 88 (4GB), M50-73 (PS mod), RADIAS-73, Electribe MX, Triton Pro (MOSS, SCSI, CF, 64MB RAM), SQ-64, DVP-1, MEX-8000, MR-1, KAOSSilator, nanoKey, nanoKontrol, 3x nanoPad 2, 3x DS1H, 7x PS1, FC7 (yes Korg, NOT Yamaha).
