Mixer for Live Gig

Post by pilot »

Hi,

I am looking for a compact mixer that I can use for live gig. Basically my setup:

- 1-2 mics
- synth
- drum machine
- kaoss pad 3

-> I'll be using the KP3 to manipulate sounds from the synth/drum machine and doing some samples live. of course the mixer has to have aux send/return.

been researching a lot these days and there are a lot out there that have great reviews from mackie to peavey to soundcraft to etc..

May I have some of your suggestions/personal experience or what your setup has already?

Thanks in advance!

I have a Mackie 1202-VLZ3, and it works great:

IMO it's a step or two up from the low-end Behringer and Yamaha mixers.
Also, their online Compact Mixer Reference Guide is excellent for those RTFM questions that I was always coming up with.

You can get it on Amazon relatively inexpensively:

Yeah Mackie is really my preference but the budget is keeping me to look for other alternatives. How about Soundcraft? I saw this Soundcraft Notepad and it seems a good alternative.

Thanks for the reply!

From what I can tell, the Soundcraft Notepad has 1 aux send/return... if that's enough for you, then it should do fine.

Other people seem to like it, too:
