So what did you use to create the effects? I like those crunchy drums.

Crunchy: all internal effects! Probably presumptuous that anyone would care to do so, but I'd love to see if anyone can guess what they are. 10 guesses? I'll give an album away to the first correct answer.

Sounds good. I'm hearing some Download/Cevin Key influence

Looked your references up, but... dude, could any band have a worse idea than name themselves DOWNLOAD? How about WEBSITE? Maybe BLOG or INTERNET or SEARCH or FREE PORN? Never found.

Never heard of Cevin Key. Listed to a couple things. Cheese. Meh. Hope there's better stuff than what I found.

Open mind still... will listen to both with link.

Sorry for the long delayed response. My wife and I had a baby in between then and now.

The guys made the Download project when the internet was in its infancy. It was a pretty cool name at the time. The name is probably terrible as a search term these days.

I have to say that its interesting that you are doing this kind of stuff and have never heard of Cevin Key. Skinny Puppy? I could see you not having heard of Coil or Cabaret Voltaire even though they are relevant. At least tell me that you know who Kraftwerk are.

Hell if I know where to find full copies of Download tracks on the intarwebz. Here is a link to Emusic. Have a listen to the sample of Glassblower.

Yes, back in the day I had a couple Skinny Puppy tapes... this Mortal Coil, yes. Art of Noise was one of my favorites as an early teen.

Kraftwerk adorns my vinyl collection too. Used to be a rave DJ. I was not very popular because I spun German & Belgian minimalist techno & solid sound type minimal & ambient. Very few got it. This is really deep pop & click type stuff, shifting machine type stuff, biting hardcore pulse type stuff. Sometimes people ask if I like Aphex Twin or Chemical Brothers, but the covers were too glossy to spend my cash on when there were test pressings with no name to be had! Must see electronica? Three of my favorite artists to spin...

Gas (aka Reinhart Voigt)
Pole
Profan label (or anything from KOMPAKT)

I put together four prime mixes of electronica a little while ago... continuous mixes of the very best I have ever heard. If you have the time for headphones and need an hour or five to get lost, here's the link:

But there's also the best radio station on the planet! Cliqhop is on SomaFM. Find. Go. Amazing one of a kind music. I'm on Mission Control a lot (as Aether Generator), but I listen to Cliqhop. Most cutting edge electronica.

Congrats on the baby! Wow! Don't you miss sleeping? Will listen to your links when my kids leave me alone for five seconds.
