Soundcard VS Behringer UFO202

Post by 501 »

I am using ~40$ Audigy Sound Blaster sound card for amateur records.
From TR's headphones slot directly to PC input with cable.
So far, sound quality is not bad,but when I record piano or strings, it's kind a shabby.

Question:
Will this http://www.mitrosmusic.com/proizvod/134 ... 2-U-PHONO/ improve recording sound quality ?

You definately don't want the UFO model because that is designed to interface with record decks and will EQ and adjust your input accordingly. I think the inputs are not line-level either. Instead you should look at the UCA model.

Anyway, I'm not sure you'll get much better quality, it is still a cheap interface. Could be worth a try.

Instead as a start you should be recording out of the Main L and R outputs, as the headphone outputs have a preamplifier that will add a bit of noise and distortion.
