the slice function on the esx is awesome
However, I can't figure out how to assign specific slices to certain drums. Any help?
Thanks.
Thanks.

bingo. there is another thread probably still on the front page on this too... read the steps carefully...
the only thing that kinda sucks is that you can set them to separate pads but changing the pitch of one changes the pitch of them all... they are separate BUT still connected... unless you resample... which isnt THAT big of a deal

easy there metallica breath. I read page 47. I even read page 46 and 48. #6 on page 47 says, "Use the [/\][\/]cursor keys to make the display read 'SliceEdt.'"[sic] Where is "SliceEdt"?
Anyway. I figured it out. I don't have to worry what "SliceEdt" is. I just assign the portion of the sample I want to via the "slice no." where it falls in the sample.
You enjoy telling folks to read the manual, but Korg manuals are not user-friendly. I have found many discrepancies in their manuals. So, sometimes us regular people seek the help of those who may know more than us and are willing to share. You must be a mac and ableton user. You know Jeb Bush uses ableton? I read it on the interweb. I, for one, wouldn't touch anything that screw-off has tainted.

I didn't know if you'd read p47, as you didn't say "I've read the manual and can't find SliceEdt" - which might have got a different answerdrinkleadsoup wrote:easy there metallica breath. yep, so the manual says SliceEdt and it should say SliceNo.drinkleadsoup wrote: Anyway. I figured it out. I don't have to worry what "SliceEdt" is. I just assign the portion of the sample I want to via the "slice no." where it falls in the sample.
it's not rocket science to figure out SliceNo might be the function you want though
good for youdrinkleadsoup wrote: You enjoy telling folks to read the manual, but Korg manuals are not user-friendly. I have found many discrepancies in their manuals. I don't use macs or ableton though, which means we have something in common, bad luck

i use the pitch knob as a "time stretcher" to make stuff fit within the grid im working on. in the case that i found out that you cant pitch the sliced parts individually there were two slices i wanted to pitch in two different pitches. a total of 4 parts with two slices.
part one pitch one
part one pitch two
part two pitch one
part two pitch two
the thing that kinda stinks about the keyboard part is that the notes dont stretch.. i honestly dont use the keyboard section much/at all so there is probably some kind of work around for using the keyboard and pitch knob in a motion sequence orgy of sorts. maybe? donno..
