Hello all!
I'm new to the forums (as well as KORG products) and I thought I'd drop in and learn a bit. I've been interested in producing music for a long time, mainly house, techno, etc. With that said, my parents have agreed to help me out and get me some tools I need for Christmas.
I've been looking at the microKORG latley, as well as the XL and microSampler. However, I'm not 100% sure which one would be best for me to start off making electronic music. I'm aware the microSampler serves a slightly different purpose than the synths, but what exactly can I do on the synths that the sampler can't?
Additionally, I've been interested in pads like the KP3 and Kaossilator. I could play synths on a keyboard while I have drums looping on the pad, correct? Would the microSampler or microKORG suit me for this kind of work? Right now I just want to experiment and get used to the instruments and eventually plug my creations into a sequencer on the computer. Also, do these instruments come with the wires I'll need to hook them up, or do I need to buy them seperatley if I want to plug a pad into a keyboard?

Welcome to Korg Forums,
I have no experience of the microKorg or XL ,but a good resource
is youtube. Search for demo's on the synth's you're interested in.
Also get down your nearest Music store and play before you buy.
Check out the korg R3 too .
You'll have to buy the cables separately. Check the Owner's Manual
to find out which one's are required. Most can be downloaded off the web.
Happy Hunting.
