My effects suddenly don't work in one of my patterns. Been sitting here for the past hour learning to mix this pattern nicely, was having a bit of trouble with the delay not sitting well...and all of the sudden no delay at all! I've turned it on/off with the FX SEND button but no response - all effects neither turn on or turn off. I've tweaked the FX EDIT knobs too. The drum parts and other synths don't receive any effects either.
So I reset my electribe, and played a different pattern - the effects worked. Switched to the previous pattern - no effects.
Anybody know how to fix this problem?
I did save the pattern before resetting my electribe...could that have saved this status of non-responsive effects?
My effects won't work in EMX1 anymore?!?!?

Yes, saving your pattern saves all its parameters, including the effects.culvera wrote:I did save the pattern before resetting my electribe...could that have saved this status of non-responsive effects?
I'm not sure what's up with this particular pattern, but your effects do work on others, so at least it's not a hardware issue.
You could start over with a blank pattern, but I assume you don't want to lose your previous work. So maybe try moving the parts one by one from your problem pattern to another that has the effects you want (generally) and then resume tweaking from there.

Try copying a completely different pattern into the dodgy one- a preset if there are any around. Do the effects work on it now? They should I would hope. This should clear it. I have been in similar situations in the past- but it's usually panic that has caused it. eg I have been furiously twirling knobs with nothing happening only to find I am actually on an empty part and not the one I thought!

Yeah I had something happen like this to me just recently while I was messing around with the ESX. I had a pattern chained up with other patterns in song mode-A.08 to be specific. Everytime I would restart the song and play it from the beginning and it would be A.08's turn to play one particular sample assigned to a time stretch part on the first beat of the A.08 pattern of which I had a BPM delay/flanger effect on-would not come on. The sample would trigger, but the effects that I had assigned to it would not come on
Now the strange part is that if I tried to play the pattern on it's own in pattern mode everything would work fine, but if I tried to play it in succession with other patterns in song mode the time stretched sample in song mode would trigger-but there would be no effects. I've checked everything by the way, I didn't do a motion sequence over the area....everything is just fine. It's also peculiar that the pattern will playback just fine in song mode if I start playback from it, but If I start the song from the beginning point the effects won't come on properly when A.08 comes around.........Arrghh, what a big headache-I still haven't figured out whats causing this to occur.

song mode sucks. I've rarely used it, but I think the only way to achieve this properly is the motion sequence or delay effect has to be recorded IN THE SONG. Think of song mode as the arrangement of building blocks (patterns). Can you pull it off just playing patterns?

Yup it plays perfectly in pattern mode. The odd thing to I've noticed is that I have the very same pattern (A.08 ) in another song stored in the ESX's memory and it plays just fine in that one-effects and all. I'm baffled, I can't figure it out. There's a possibility that this problem may be due to an unresolved bug-but I'm not certain. I have the latest OS..so who knows. I'm baffledsong mode sucks.
