New Oasys owner!

Post by cello »

Hi all - childish though it may appear, just had to share that I've just bought an Oasys/88! :D :D :D

Having been a Korg nut for nearly 30 years (starting with the Delta - the only new synth I have ever bought), I never, ever thought I'd own the absolute flagship...

And now I do! 8)

Don't care about the arguments about whether it's supported or not, or discontinued or whatever - like a cello, you use it for the instrument that it is - not what it might be or could be or should be... and I can't wait!

Okay. I'll calm down now.

(heehee, no I won't! )

Note to self - update signature once I've got it :D

I had exactly those thoughts when I bought it in 2005 for the full 8K. I bought it for what it was then - and that was before STR-1, MS-20, PolySix, EXs3 and MOD-7 were added!

Congrats to you!

Welcome cello and congratulations! :D

Delta :) ... I remember very well these days, too. My first synthesizer was the MS-20, nearly 30... unbelievable 30 years ago. I was not sure whether I should get the Yamaha CS-5 or the MS-20. I remember myself reading the brochures for hours, again and again. There were soo many instruments that not only looked great, but also had impressive specs, eg the PS-series.. out of reach for ages, the Trident, and smaller instruments like the Sigma and the Delta. Always wanted to get the Delta as I had the opportunity to play one but then Korg released their Mono/Poly.... like you I never ever thought to own the "absolute flagship"... and now we do!

Congratulations Cello!

You are now the proud owner of one of the finest instruments ever built.

Now, don't forget to sleep in between sessions in front of the Oasys.

Of course, I hope you don't mind if the questions now start... (in different threads - I promise to search first!)
