Hello Korg world Microkontrol question

I'm new to this forum so be gentle with me. I make electronic music for pleasure and also make documentaries about railways for a living for which I also compose and record the music.

I've had a variety of Korg gear over the years and have loved most of it. I recently got a microkontrol second hand and I'm not sure if its me being dense or wether it doesn't work. I don't use a computer for sequencing (I use a Yamaha qy700) but I do have several MIDI devices that would be easier to control with the micro but it doesn't seem to output any MIDI at all. I have the manual and as far as I can see everything seems fairly straight forward assigning controllers and saving scenes and so on it just doesn't squirt anything out the DIN socket. Am I being dense or is it knackered? Any suggestions for a total factory reset? Is there a global MIDI off switch (can't se why there should be)
