Greetings to All!

I'm going to go ahead and take a moment today to formally introduce myself here for the benefit of those that I have already communicated with in recent weeks, and for all others who might encounter threads of various kinds in which I have participated directly. I'll try to keep this posting brief and I'll also try to keep it candid, because in my view, that is the most meaningful purpose of such on-line forums. So, here we go!

My name is Joe and I live in the Hawaiian Islands about 2700 nautical miles west/southwest of Los Angeles, California. I am an experienced guitarist with over 40-years of experience and primarily a home-studio hobbyist, but I am relatively new to synthesizers/keyboards. I owned a Korg M1 back when they first appeared (in 1990) and I currently own a Roland Fantom X8, but I have wanted another semi-weighted synth (like my older M1) for many years now, so I have been thoroughly researching the suitability of the Korg PA2X Pro for some weeks.

Despite what I would call a "significant" body of complaints registered by multiple users worldwide on this forum, surrounding various issues with the PA2X and with Korg's relatively lackluster customer support for the product, I have reluctantly agreed to the purchase of a new PA2X Pro keyboard just this past week. I purchased the PA2X along with the EXB-M256 expanded memory and EXB-V1F4 graphic video interface cards, as well as the EC-5 assignable foot switch/pedal.

Only time will tell how truly great this particular PA/keyboard is or how suitable it may be for my particular application, but I'll say this much at the outset . . . I (personally) have contacted Korg representatives (with Korg USA and Korg/Italy) pertaining to the PA2X (via PM's) without the benefit or courtesy of a response from either, and given the widespread disappointment that has been expressed here by other users with regard to failed LED's and OS/software lock-ups, etc., I feel that I am am most definitely giving them the benefit of the doubt by purchasing this product.

Others here on the forum have been exceedingly helpful in their guidance and very supportive in their comments regarding their experience with the PA2X, and I sincerely hope to have 'no' problems whatsoever with my own (new) PA2X. I also hope that my experience with Korg and its support will be superior or improved to that experienced by others, because sadly, if it is not, this will indeed be my final Korg product.
